Hey Shauna Art Therapy

HEY SHAUNA ART THERAPY SUPERVISION

SUPERVISION + CONSULTATION

Clinical supervision, consultation & neurodiversity affirming practice support

CLINICAL SUPERVISION

These sessions can absolutely include case consultation …and they can also be SO much more than that. We can talk about ANYTHING that’s coming up for you …as a therapist/counsellor …as a human in that role.

We can talk about building systems & gathering resources that support you in your work (and life), logistics around being in private practice/self employed, building a neurodiversity-affirming practice, your own lived experience with neurodivergence (with or without formal diagnosis), we can make art in session (or not), we can explore Brainspotting, we can shake and wiggle our bodies when things feel jammed up or overwhelming. Please know that we can bend and shape these sessions to FIT YOU.

NEURODIVERSITY + NEURODIVERGENCE

I will ALWAYS be bringing this in to our conversations and consultations. Sometimes explicitly, sometimes more nuanced …it’s a foundation to how I practice, and how I understand this work (and our collective lived experience in the world).

And I do want to be specific in that I work with adults only, and not youth/children …which extends into an understanding that the information & perspective that I’ll be showing up with will be specific to supporting adults. I want to be super clear with this distinction, as I believe that the conversations, supports, and experiences are very different in many ways.

WHO THESE SESSIONS ARE FOR

  • Art therapy students and professional art therapists looking to register with CATA or BCATA.
  • AND, I’m also delighted to work with any sort of therapist/counsellor interested in neurodiversity-affirming practice …just do keep in mind that if you practice outside of the field of art therapy, you may not be able to count your hours with me towards your own registration/regulation requirements.
  • Maybe you’re a counsellor, therapist, social worker, community support worker, care provider, teacher… and you’d like to learn more about how to show up differently for the people in your life (perhaps even yourself) that locate on the spectrum(s) of Neurodivergence.

Hey Shauna Art Therapy

My credentials are RCAT (Registered Canadian Art Therapist, #380-R-23), with the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA), which will allow professional and student art therapists (in Canada) to count SUPERVISION hours together towards your own requirements (for school and/or professional registration). For anyone outside of the field of art therapy, or in a different country, you'll want to check with the requirements of your regulating body.

AND, I absolutely welcome folks from other areas of therapy/counselling to inquire about supervision ....private or group... with the awareness that the hours may not be able to be tallied for your own registration/schooling requirements, but the support (individual, community, peer) is still here.

If you have any questions – please ask.

Author Ursula Le Guin describes our imaginations as the single most useful tool that we possess – a tool that we have to learn how to use, “to invent our lives, make them up, imagine them” – that the learning, teaching, and exercising of our imaginations is something foundational to our basic life skills “for growth, for health, for competence, for joy”.
